After 11 years of consistent and dedicated service on our Board of Directors, we bid farewell to Tim Henderson. He sat on the Development and Executive Committees, as well as serving as both Treasurer & Secretary to the Board. His expertise will be missed, and we wish him all the best in his current and future development ventures!
We also recently welcomed three new Directors to the Board to First Community Housing with diverse expertise. In May, the Board elected its second resident, Kermit Conley, of FCH's Japantown Senior Apartments. He has been a stalwart advocate for affordable housing, participating in NPH and LeadingAge lobby days at the capital. It also elected Robert Sherrard, a banker whose background in finance includes founding and working with multiple nonprofit development lenders, and helping finance FCH's Second Street Studios project, the first new construction of Permanent Supportive Housing and the first modular affordable housing in San Jose. In June, the FCH Board elected Ru Weerakoon, a recently retired, career-long public servant who most recently worked as Senior Policy Advisor on Land Use and Economic Development under Mayors Chuck Reed and Sam Liccardo.
The FCH Board is represented by a voice for our residents, a deep understanding of financing affordable housing, and decades of experience in planning & economic development. We couldn't be more thrilled!
